Mother’s Day is Every Day

Origin of Mother’s Day

The modern observance of Mother’s Day originated in 1908 in Grafton, West Virginia, United States by the efforts of Ms. Anna Jarvis, who wanted to honor mothers for their selfless devotion and sacrifices. Mother’s Day became a national holiday in 1914 under U.S. President Woodrow Wilson. Since then, many countries have celebrated Mother’s Day as a holiday annually, and as a fundamental practice, every day.
